If you're having difficulties in your intimate relationship, I invite you and your partner to explore the benefits of working with an experienced psychologist specializing in couples therapy. I enjoy working with all couples, although I specialize in multiracial and same-sex couples.
I have had the opportunity to work with racial, ethnic, and cultural minority clients in my training and career. I specialize in working with Japanese Americans and first generation college students. Some of the issues that I have worked on with racial minority clients include isolation, stress, depression, and somatic difficulties (e.g., physical symptoms such as headaches, stomach aches, body pain, etc.) related to psychological problems.
I offer a safe, non-judgmental place for LGBQ clients to explore and learn more about LGBQ issues such as coming out, spirituality, relationships, isolation, and gender identity formation.
Life Transitions can be growth producing as well as frightening. I provide a place where you can come to gain insight regarding your transition. In my career, I have helped clients with career exploration, identity formation, early and mid-life crisis, and issues related to grief and loss. I also enjoy working with clients on existential (meaning of life) issues.
I have a network of holistic health care practitioners
that I work collaboratively with to treat depression, anxiety, stress,
and other somatic difficulties. I work with professionals who are massage
therapists, acupuncturists, naturopaths, osteopaths, and chiropractors.
Many times the physical body can use treatment if you are working on difficult
psychological problems such as depression or anxiety. Likewise, I will
contact your own holistic health care provider if you are interested in
combining my psychological services with the health care your practitioner
is already providing you.
